Why am I here and What's Next.

It was a cold Canadian winter day on December 3rd, 2021

The Pandemic had created a world wide reflection on what was important in life.

• Spending time with your spouse and children?

• Connection with friends?

• Being able to go to work or run a business?

• Unable to create income due to lock downs and new restrictions?

It was an interesting time… I’m not sure if it was because I am in my 40s now or because of the Pandemic. Either way, it was a forcing function and I had started to look into “Where am I at?” and “Where do I want to go?”

I was spending more time at home with the kids. So earlier that year to help us all deal with the uncertainty of the situation. I had decided to start a podcast called The Imperfect Parent. 

My thoughts were:

If I could talk with other parents and professionals who were going through the same stuff, maybe I would be able to gain some clarity, knowledge, or resources and put them to use.

It was a nice outlet and allowed me to have some great conversations. That experience helped me become a better parent and human. I learned a lot about how hard communication can be and how important it is in all relationships. (Resources on this coming soon)

Through the process of publishing 50+ episodes. I not only learned a lot from my guests but I also built a ton of new skills. A lot of which I continue to develop and enjoy today. I dove deep into the Internet marketing world. With intentions on learning how to grow and monetize a podcast.

That led me down a rabbit hole, into a whole new world that I had never really been a part of or knew existed. There were life and business coaches for every niche.. There were even coaches for learning how to coach. 

I actually hired a few. Some were good and some were not so good. If you ever want to cut down the learning curve and collapse time, a mentor or coach can definitely help you do that. Just beware of the environment you are in.. (maybe a whole other article about that)

During this time it was also a Crypto bull run.. Which is when people become millionaires overnight by buying a dog coin.

I actually saw it happen.. $80 => $20,000,000 over a couple of months. It was ridiculous and very intriguing!!

So, of course, I had to see what was going on over in the Crypto world.. 

Let me tell you… it was a bumpy ride.

Very high peaks of emotional euphoria and on the other side there were very low valleys.

One thing I learned since then is that an emotional loss hurts more than an equivalent gain feels good.

Turn your $100 into $1000 = feels great

Wake up to that $1000 being $100 = feels terrible

But in reality, you are in the same spot.. You just feel worse than you did when you started.

The world of Web3 and blockchain (Crypto) is an incredible place and it is not all dog coins and scams. The technology behind it all will change the world and the way things will be done. To be honest though, by the time the average person is using blockchain, they won’t even know it.

(Definitely more on this later!)

So back to my story... It was December 3rd, 2023 

I sent a message to a really good friend that was playing in some of the same online circles.

“Hey, you should check out this community, they are doing some really cool stuff with crypto. Let me know what you think”

By the end of the day and hours of being on voice chat and screen share. We had both moved a bunch of crypto into this new ecosystem.

For the next couple of weeks, it was a great learning experience. Got fire hosed with everything crypto. Defi, Nfts, farming, staking, lending, borrowing, we stared at charts and dove deep.

It was only a few weeks later when something happened that changed the direction of my life forever...

Why am I here and what’s next…

I am here to share the stories, lessons, and resources that have impacted every part of my life. They have helped me become a better Father, Husband, Friend, and Business Owner.

Most of the lessons I learned sound simple…

It is the application and implementation that is the hard part.

I hope to entertain you with some stories while offering a place to learn, share and grow.
